YOUR THOUGHTS CHANGE YOUR DESTINY
Watch your thoughts for they become your words.
Watch your words for they become your actions.
Watch your actions, for they become your habits.
Watch your habits, for they become your character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
Just how powerful are your thoughts? Well according to this quote, your thoughts are the instigator of what becomes your destiny. And THAT makes your thoughts extremely powerful. I love this quote because it shows the impressive and potent the chain reaction is, and it begins with our thoughts.
We speak about what we are thinking about. Then it usually takes a lot of thought and words before we take action. “It just happened” never comes into being without a great of thought and some words. We can’t develop habits until we have acted upon them. It takes a great deal of action and intention to create a new habit and then it once it has been ingrained as a habit, it becomes a part of our character and who we are. When our character and way of being are established, we can’t help but step into our destiny.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT?
The power of our thoughts is huge. Our thoughts are the seeds of everything that is happening in our lives. Our predominant thoughts, whether conscious or subconscious, influence our behavior and attitudes, controlling our perspectives, actions and reactions. Whatever type of seeds our thoughts are, becomes the fruit of our lives. Since our thoughts create our perception and our reality, our lives mirror these dominant thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes.
HOW CAN WE CHANGE OUR DESTINY?
1. TEST IT - INVESTIGATE YOUR PAST & PRESENT SITUATIONS
Reflect on the best and the worst that has happened in your life.
Notice what your dominant thoughts are, or have been about these things. Look at your relationships, health, career, finances, and your life experiences.
What areas do you feel confident and great in?
How do your dominant thoughts reflect your results?
Now look at areas of dissatisfaction in your life and things you want to change. What are some of the negative thoughts and beliefs you have in these areas that are holding you back from what you truly want? This may take some time to discover. If you don’t have the results you want in life, you may have a deep-seated negative belief holding you back.
What will you replace those thoughts or limiting beliefs with?
2. BECOME AWARE OF YOUR THOUGHTS
Think about what you are thinking about!
The average person has between 50,000 – 70,000 thoughts a day. Of course you cannot control every thought. You can notice what you are thinking about and become more intentional about focusing on positive things that you want in your life, verses dwelling on the negative, harmful things that you do not want. Until your self-limiting thought process is changed, you will keep getting the same results. If you want different results in your life, think different thoughts. Your thoughts are seeds. If you want to harvest the good things in life, you must think thoughts that are positive and beneficial to you. Eventually, you will reap the thoughts that you sow.
3. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT
When you think about what you want consistently, you will start to put words to your thoughts and then take powerful actions. The more detail, colour, and sensory life you can add to your thoughts, the clearer and more motivated you will be. This is why keeping a visual Dream Board of the things your want in life is powerful. It helps keeps your thoughts focused on what you want. You will begin to think positive thoughts about what you want and your eyes will be opened to resources and opportunities. Since you actually become what you think about, be sure you’re thinking about what you want instead of what you do not want.
4. FRAME ALL YOUR THOUGHTS IN A POSITIVE LIGHT
It is impossible to create what you want in life by focusing on what you do not want.
If you think about “not” being fat or “not” being broke, your subconscious only picks up on the most important words, which are “fat” and “broke.” You subconscious holds your deep-seated beliefs and does not register the absence of something, it only registers the main thought. If you think about being fit and trim, or having an abundance of finances, you are shifting your thinking to what you DO want. Your subconscious always works powerfully to match those pictures in your thoughts.
5. MAKE IT A HABIT
Science tells us that long-term patterns of thinking can actually cause changes in our brains. Neuroplasticity is when we have long term thinking patterns that physically change the neuronal pathways in the hypothalamus.
The brain has the capacity to re-wire itself to form new neural pathways which leads to habitual thought patterns. The quality and consistency of the thoughts you choose, define and mold the quality of your life: emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially, relationally, and your career.
If you are not on the path you ultimately want to be on, realize that most of the conditions and circumstances of your life are a result of your collective thoughts and beliefs. When you change your thoughts, the chain reaction is activated to change your destiny. The path to get to where you want to go in life begins with your thoughts.
